ABOUT

ABC Soils provides vacuum excavation services, a soft-dig process, particularly at locations inaccessible to conventional equipment, such as within or near buildings, or near utilities that should not be disturbed. Our multi-disciplined crew performs utility clearances, installs structural supports while working in crawl spaces, removes sediment from wetlands and drainage ditches, extracts and disposes spent media from water treatment facilities and excavates petroleum contaminated soil from basements and crawl spaces. We can also install soil borings in places inaccessible by drill digs. We have installed a sensor network for Homeland Security, utility settling sensors and are health and safety trained to work in a variety of hazardous situations. We have worked up to 700 horizontal feet, and up to 80 vertical feet from our machine.

ABC Soils’ trailer and truck mounted machines have patented blowers to achieve a 28-inch mercury vacuum, which is the most powerful on the market. We can dislodge and move soil, crushed stone, spent treatment media, various types of sediment, tank residual and powdered materials. We routinely provide utility clearance for the installation of monitoring wells, clear streams and culverts, clean tanks, excavate basement soil, extract spent treatment media, and remove rooftop stone.

Trailer Mounted

Features
  • ABC Soils' trailer mounted vacuum excavator has the ability to dump into a variety of containers from smaller dump trucks to 10 wheelers, and tri-axles to roll-off dumpsters, 18 wheeler trailers, 55 gallon drums, or even wheelbarrows- just about anything under 13 feet tall.
  • The trailer setup is great for situations where excavated material is being trucked long distances.
  • Can be used in places where spatial constraints prevent access or dumping by truck mounted units

Truck Mounted

Features
  • Each truck has a 12 ton capacity tank
  • The tanks are watertight enabling us to work with submersed or wet media without making a large mess.
  • Trucks are fitted with 8 inch diameter suction hose which reduces the occurrence of clogging
  • Some trucks are outfitted with a 150 gallon water holding tank for wash down and de-contamination purposes when carrying a slurry, which doubles as a water source when saw cutting concrete.
  • One has a side-mounted hopper which allows for offloading finer materials into a separate container.
Uses/Capabilities
  • These trucks can be used to clean catch basins, filter media at water treatment facilities, remove spent activated carbon, conduct subsurface environmental investigations, install monitoring wells, install borings to support the installation of sensors that gauge pipe settling, clear utilities at high-voltage power substations, turn crawl spaces under buildings into a more usable space and aid in the installation of pedestrian wayfaring signs.
  • The vacuum generated is capable of moving material that is located up to 1,000 feet away from the truck and can lift up to 100 vertical feet.
